On 8, 9 and 10 September 2017 everyone interested in the developments at the Amsterdam Marineterrein can come and have a look, during the 'Ontdekdagen' (discovery days). Waag Society is present on 9 September with the Do It Together Science Bus, where kids can participate in one of the workshops of our Smart Kids Lab programme.
On 10 September, Karen van der Moolen will give a talk on the subject 'From Neigbourhoods to Makerhoods'. Being programme developer on the topic of Open Design and Digital Fabrication for Waag Society since 2010, Karen will share insights on how Fab Labs, makerspaces and the surrounding maker movement can play a more effective role in tomorrow’s sustainable cities. She discusses challenges that have had a limiting effect on leveraging the value of maker movement initiatives so far, and proposes set of actionable insights to go forward with. You can sign up for this talk here.
The entrance is free. For some parts of the programme a contribution may be asked.
