De Waag temporarily houses a team of six Russian researchers of 'Metro for all' who will map all Amsterdam metro stations within one week. Metro for all is an initiative that focusses its attention on needs of passengers with restricted mobility, i.e. people who have difficulties travelling on their own – like wheelchair and stroller users, aged people, commuters carrying heavy and oversized luggage and so on.
For this purpose, Metro for all has developed a methodology to collect the data and developed a mobile and web app to provide users with the information. After a number of Russian cities and Warsaw, Amsterdam is the first city in Western Europe where the team will employ their method.
More information and examples can be found at the website of Metro for all.
