Anansiweb was the website for an exhibition in the Tropical Institute in Amsterdam. The website was filled with contributions of more than 10.000 children that visited the exhibition called 'Paleisgeheimen' (Secrets of the Palace). 95% if all visitors rated the exhibition as 'good' or 'very good'.

Starting point for this exhibition was the rich and vital culture at the courts of the Ghanese Ashanti. The exhibition expressed this in clothes, drums, dance, body language, royal objects and proverbs. For this purpose the Tropical Museum Junior was rebuilt into an Ashanti palace, complete with a reception hall, secret chamber, an inner courtyard, the royal wardrobe and a chamber with drums.

The exbition was on display from 2000 until 2003 and was a huge success. This website was supported by Waag's Creative Learning Lab section and part of the larger project KidsEye, a framework of projects with museums. Anansieweb was finally closed in 2012 and can no longer be visited.
