Karien Vermeulen from Waag Society’s Creative Learning Lab will present our best practices in maker education at the Design for Peace summit in London.
The Design for Peace summit is a knowledge-intensive networking event, aimed at bringing together the world’s most prominent humanitarians, social innovators, entrepreneurs, design pioneers and global makers. Its goal is to fundamentally rethink how Design, Innovation and Entrepreneurship can become powerful tools in changing the world for the better, by ending the suffering of the 65 million of women, men and children affected by armed conflicts and environmental disasters.
During the summit, which will take place in London on December 13th, a series of key-note presentations and discussions on design innovation, well-being, digital education and social entrepreneurship will be presented.
You can find the full program of the summit here.
Part of the Design for peace program is a hackathon and a creative competition. A call goes out to makers, designers and other creatives to submit their ideas for innovative projects. Find more information on the challenges here.
