Do you want to get feedback on your ideas and work from professionals from the broad field of fashion, technology and/or education? Do you want to meet and collaborate with fashion design students from other institutes? Are you the agent of change we are looking for?
Waag Society and Mascha van Zijverden (ArtEZ) offer a round-table workshop for a small group selected 3rd and/or 4th year fashion design students coming from art schools across The Netherlands.
Although the world is changing, the fashion industry adapts slowly. Pressing issues around ethics, sustainability and transparency in a digital era challenge the fashion, textile and clothing industry. As well as emerging technologies such as digital fabrication and biotechnology and shifting consumers’ values.
This raises questions about the future role of the fashion designer, responsibility, the notion of (digital) crafts and craftsmanship, fashion education, the meaning and value of fashion and the role of the consumer. Round table workshop.
So, what are we going to do?
First of all, we're curious about your vision. During the first meeting you will collaboratively set the agenda for the second meeting by mapping out a model of The Future Fashion Professional. The collective presentation of this model will be the starting point for a discussion and iteration during the second meeting with the experts. This context is at the same time the backdrop of your individual feedback on your own work and questions.
