Thijs van Himbergen works as graphic designer at Waag Society. After receiving a Bachelor degree in Science (with a focus on Biology) from University College Utrecht, he became an English teacher in Barcelona for a few years. He then briefly observed the absurdities of the fashion industry as the personal assistant of a big fashion brand's CEO. Then, for eight years, he became a freelance creative entrepreneur, using illustration, design and writing to tell stories for a variety of clients. He also co-founded a t-shirt label about the awesomeness of imperfection (pretty nice shirts) and a basement art & event space in Amsterdam's red light district (Schatjes Gallery).
In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, silkscreening, growing vegetables, fermenting things, and petting his cats, Lastovo and Baksteen.
