Workshop: het vormgeven van AI-vaardigheden en -onderwijs voor de creatieve sectoren in Europa

Europe’s creative and cultural industries stand at a crossroads: AI is reshaping manufacturing, art, design and architecture, but without strategic action we risk losing our unique creative identity to generic, standardized outputs. The RenAIssance project is building a European cooperation ecosystem to ensure that AI amplifies our heritage and does not erase it. Your insight and perspective is critical to shaping this future. By joining our workshops, you can directly shape and influence the AI strategies employed within the EU.

Two AI workshops are organised as part of the RenAIssance project, an EU Erasmus project that aims at developing a training framework that addresses the growing AI skills gap in Higher Education (HE) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) within the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), with a focus on manufacturing, art, design and architecture. AI seems to challenge and reshape creative industries on different fronts. On the one hand, it can help with some tasks such as making mock-ups in high speed. On the other hand, it generates generic outputs with questionable ownership and creativity.

At Waag Futurelab we believe that technologies and education programmes in relation to technologies should be developed together with stakeholders. Therefore, your concerns and values on AI skills and education in creative industries are important to us.

Your involvement will directly influence:

  • The AI Skills Strategy, which will define how the EU funds supports AI education and training.
  • The Cultural and Creative Industries Cooperation Framework, a roadmap for how creative industries collaborate in the age of AI.
  • Pilot projects that test real-world AI applications, with your input helping to lead the way.

At its core, this is about preserving Europe’s creative soul. AI should amplify our traditions, not replace them. Your expertise will help:

  • Strengthen craftsmanship and creative practices by ensuring AI tools complement, rather than undermine, the skills and identities that define our cultural sectors.
  • Set ethical standards so that technology serves human creativity, not the other way around.
  • Shape policies that prioritize creators, ensuring AI adoption is fair, inclusive, and aligned with European values.

What will we do together?
