Build the Open Wetlab with us
In the third edition of Do It Together Bio you are invited to explore the data potential of urine. In a workshop, participants will consider the energy potential of urine and what this might reveal about processes within the body. The workshop will be led by Mike Thompson and Susana Cámara Leret, former winners of DA4GA.
What does urine say about you?
In 2012 designers Mike Thompson and Susana Cámara Leret, in collaboration with the Netherlands Metabolomics Centre, developed Aqua Vita, one of the four winning entries in the Designers & Artists for Genomics Award 2011. During the project, the designers explored the data potential of urine in a future vision of self monitoring and diagnosis. Combining biochemical data from urine with experiential data from a personalised questionnaire, Aqua Vita aimed to visualise the body’s metabolic processes in a visual diary, revealing the bodies changes over time and exploring the correlations between lifestyle and diet.
