STARTS Talk at Milano Digital Week

The STARTS initiative that merges Science, Technology, and the ARTS, has been invited to the Milano Digital Week were a STARTS Talk will take place. The STARTS project attempts to remove the boundaries between art and engineering to stimulate creativity and innovation. The Milano Digital Week is a new event promoting global and interdisciplinary discourse in the fields of Art, Design and Technology.

During the two days, participants will be able to discover the STARTS PRIZE, the VERTIGO and WEARSUSTAIN projects and see how innovation can be stimulated by merging Science and Technology with the Arts. 

The STARTS TALKS will take place on the 17th of March. The panel will gather Paolo Cesarini, Head of Unit at the European Commission who will present the STARTS programme, Stefano Boeri, President of La Triennale di Milano, members of STARTS-funded projects, and Salvatore Iaconesi and Oriana Persico, two digital artists and collaborators of Agenzia per l’Italia Digitale. 

The START ACADEMY is a workshop taking place on the 18th of March and addressed to children aged 7 to 13.

Waag is part of the STARTS Prize collaboration that aims to showcase and celebrate visions and achievements at the interface between innovation and creation. The European Commission’s STARTS Prize initiative is designed to spotlight people and projects that have the potential to make a sustainable positive impact on Europe’s economic, technological, social and ecological future. The competition seeks innovative projects at the nexus of science, technology and the arts.

STARTS Talks are part of the STARTS Prize activities and the STARTS initiative of the EU. STARTS Prize and STARTS Talks are coordinated by Ars Electronica Linz, BOZAR and Waag, supported by the European Commission.
