Artifishal: The road to extinction is paved with good intentions
You are invited to an online screening of Artifishal: The Road To Extinction Is Paved With Good Intentions, presented by Waag. Artifishal is ‘a film about people, rivers, and the fight for the future of wild fish and the environment that supports them. It explores wild salmon’s slide toward extinction, threats posed by fish hatcheries and fish farms, and our continued loss of faith in nature.’

Speakers
We will also welcome Corin Smith, author at Salmon and Trout Conservation, and Jennifer E. Telesca, assistant professor of environmental science at the Pratt Institute. Jennifer E. Telesca will host a short talk after the screening, before the speakers partake in a Q&A session.
As an attendee you will be present in a video conference for the introduction. We will share the link to the film, before returning to the video conference room for the Q&A.
Let's eat
With an eye on the environmental agenda of the film and our speakers, we will also be teaming up with the Amsterdam-based Vegan Finest Foods, to offer local participants the chance to dine at home with delicious vegan salmon, before the screening. You receive a recipe for its preparation created by the talented Chieri Higa, chef and author of the upcoming book Grandma's Okinawa. This is a way for you to discover the alternatives available to the over-saturated fishing market. If you attend this screening, you can pick up a free portion of vegan salmon at Waag on Wednesday or Thursday between 5 and 6.30 pm before the screening!

This is an evening organised around the environmentally-focused ethos of Waag, with projects such as planet B and Reflow aiming to think of new ways with which to inhabit and interact with our planet. With this event we want to explore questions of sustainability, technology, human agency, and the relationship we have with the natural world. This event is made possible by Vegan Finest Foods.
