Will the miniaturization of biotechnology and the merger with electronics bring biotech into our pockets, mobile phones or body? For two full days, a group of hackers will try to get a glimpse of this future by stretching the boundaries of the current state of art. They will share their results during a public presentations program on December 13th.
A group of passionate hackers formed with an interest in a mix technologies that seem to be labeled most frequently as digital microfluidics, electrowetting or even digital biology. The technology promises to make an end to all pipetting and manual liquid handling systems, and opens the doors to a future of massive parallel automatization of for example research, diagnostics and genetic engineering.
In the weekend of December 12th and 13th, the group of hackers will get together again and invite everyone with a similar interest to join the quest into the hackability and applicability of this exciting technology.
