The Open Knowledge Festival is a shared, immersive experience - you can learn, listen, brainstorm, make, hack, watch and explore. This year, these conversations will be based around three narrative streams; Knowledge, Tools and Society.
Open data solutions and fellowships
Waag will give a workshop Code a Difference that will explore how fellowships can contribute to solving civic challenges and creating a sustainable innovation ecosystem within cities. Within the fellowship format highly talented developers are temporarily placed with municipalities to work together with the civil servants and engaged citizens to create user centered solutions for specific civic issues.
In group discussions we will map current civic challenges and look at how the (re)use of open data, code and apps in a general sense can help solve these challenges. Moreover, we will investigate how a fellowship format works and what results it can deliverable in this context.
