Arcangelo Constantini (Mexico) and Michael Pinsky (UK) have begun their S+T+ARTS4WaterII residencies hosted by Waag Futurelab. They will address pressing water management issues, combining technology, art, and public engagement to foster sustainable solutions.Constantini’s project, Vortex Harmonies, explores water revitalisation by merging Nikola Tesla’s bladeless turbine technology with Viktor Schauberger’s principles of water dynamics, creating a kinetic sculpture that integrates sound and ecological awareness. Pinsky’s EcoPort Futures focuses on transforming the Port of Amsterdam through sustainable artistic interventions, turning waterways into cultural and educational spaces.

Do you love getting hands-on with projects, experimenting with technology, and working with innovative biomaterials? Now’s your chance to join the bio revolution and participate in a rapidly evolving field.BioHack Academy 2025 runs for ten weeks, starting February 3, 2025. You'll learn how to work with biomaterials, build your own lab equipment, and explore the basics of biotechnology. We invite you to experience Operational Bodies: The Tomato Tasted Like Automation of Care by Špela Petrič, now on view at Waag Futurelab. This public installation, displayed on the building’s exterior, features images captured by an AI-driven robot used in modern tomato greenhouses. Petrič’s work raises important questions about automation in food production and how such technologies influence our daily lives.

Fashion Journalism Meets Sustainability. We are delighted to welcome Anna Roos van Wijngaarden to Waag Futurelab as part of a three-month journalism residency. During her time with us, Anna Roos will be conducting research at Waag’s TextileLab, focusing on the intersection of fashion journalism, sustainability, and textile innovation. In collaboration with the Fund for Special Journalistic Projects, this residency explores how fashion journalism can respond to sustainability challenges.
