The Netherlands must act now to safeguard digital autonomy and the public interest. A sovereign tech fund is a crucial step towards a resilient digital ecosystem. Using this fund we can build a future in which we have control over our digital infrastructure, and in which the technology we use serves the public interest. We therefore call on the Dutch government to raise and realise its ambitions - and to work with us on this.

Digital policy is economic policy
Large-scale investment in alternative digital infrastructures is needed now. This is how we build an ecosystem that is less dependent on foreign commercial interests. This requires a strategic policy shift in which the Netherlands actively contributes to building a resilient and sovereign digital ecosystem that protects our democracy. This means investing in a public digital infrastructure, accessible to all, as well as in democratic and sustainable business models that do not operate extractively. So that we move towards true democratic tech!
