Exploring the role of AI in the cultural and creative sectors

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly present in the Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI), influencing artistic research, creative production, and cultural activities. At Waag Futurelab, we are investigating how AI is being integrated into these fields and what this means for practitioners, institutions, and the broader public.

Take the survey

We invite professionals working in the cultural and creative sectors to share their experiences, concerns, and reflections in a short survey. The aim is to gather a range of perspectives on how AI is currently used, understood, and experienced within the sector.

Follow the workshop

In addition to the survey, we are organising a 90 minute online workshop to further explore how AI is shaping the field. Participants will discuss the values, tensions, and practical realities involved in using or engaging with AI in creative and cultural contexts.

  • Date: 11 September 2025
  • Time: 13:00–14:30 CET
  • Location: Online (invitation-only)

The workshop forms part of a broader inquiry into the responsible use of AI in the cultural and creative industries. Outcomes will contribute to ongoing research and be shared with EU-level stakeholders working on the development of AI tools relevant to the sector.

If you are interested in joining the workshop, please leave your email address at the end of the survey or contact [natalia] [at] [waag] [dot] [org].

Help us spread the news

The survey and workshop are open to individuals across the sector, and we welcome you to share this invitation with colleagues who may be interested in contributing.
