Last night, 20 October, it was announced that the PHP programming language contains a vulnerability that leaves websites open to hackers. As a precaution, many websites that use PHP have been taken offline, such as DigiD and TweedeKamer.nl. We have also taken parts of the Waag Futurelab website offline.
Important to note: this does not mean that any data from Waag has been leaked; we are taking the site offline as a precaution to protect our systems and data from attacks.
Our website waag.org remains online as usual. Our newsletter system, which uses software from Listmonk, is offline. This means that links in previously sent newsletters will no longer work this week. Our donation page, doneer.waag.org, is also offline.
A number of websites belonging to Waag projects are also offline, such as those of Hollandse Luchten, Maakschap Amsterdam and Meent Coöp.
We will post an update here as soon as these systems are back online. You can read more about the situation surrounding this vulnerability via the NOS live blog ‘Websites vulnerable to software leak’.
