Award ceremony Apps for Amsterdam

The award ceremony of Apps for Amsterdam will take place on November 7 in Pakhuis de Zwijger. Speakers are arranged “as we speak” and we will hand out prizes with a total value of 25,000 Euro. Block this date in your agenda.

Besides theme prizes and incentives, we will hand out a panel prize. A group of end users is going to test all the submissions and will award their favorite with 1,500 Euro.

About Apps for Amsterdam
Both the public and private sectors have huge amounts of factual information about our society. From crime figures to garbage collection routes, the quality of schools or traffic statistics. During the Apps for Amsterdam contest it is all about this data and the applications that can be developed with it.

The contest started in the Spring of 2012. In the meantime, new data is released (eg data from different city districts, locations of surveillance cameras, information from the Amsterdam Tourism & Convention Board (ATCB) and real-time traffic data from the Department of Infrastructure, Transport and Traffic). Furthermore, we brought developers and data owners together in de Waag for an Open Data Bootcamp in October. This was a day filled with inspiring speakers, cases and API sessions.
