Thirty years ago, the internet became accessible for many people in the Netherlands. That was thanks to an Internet provider that emerged from the hacker scene: XS4ALL. The founders of XS4ALL used the new platform for their political struggle. They campaigned for the right to privacy, freedom of speech and digital civil rights.
Maarten Reijnders wrote a book about the early days of the internet in the Netherlands following the founding of internet company XS4ALL.
