Imagine a place that's a lot like Earth...
we'll call it planet B
Planet B is a place of natural beauty — unspoiled by pollution, unmonitored by satellites, untouched by the hand of human endeavour.
Now, imagine that, at some point in the future, our descendants discover planet B and its colonisation commences... Given this unprecedented new opportunity, what could we do better? What would your planet B look like?
During Museumnacht Amsterdam at de Waag, we are going on an expedition to planet B. Together with the audience, artists and scientists we will try to find answers to the large social and ecological challenges we are facing. A mission created from the urge to do things right.
The programme exists of soundscapes, performances and mini lectures about societal questions, ecological challenges and human activities in space, that help us consider humankind in relation to technology and environment. During the night you can visit an exhibition with works by Antti Tenetz, Aesthetics of Exclusion and Masha Ru and enjoy some experimental, sustainable drinks.
