Picking & harvesting in Waag's dye garden at the Marineterrein!
Did you know that a whole palette of natural dyes grows around us? Waags TextileLab has a dye garden on the Marineterrein forecourt where they grow plants that can be used for dyeing textiles. As many as nine different plants grow here, which together form a wide colour palette. The dye garden will be used for the Local Color project and is part of the ParkxPark pilot project which is looking at how old parking spaces can be transformed into valuable, sustainable places.
During this special edition of Waag Open, we will visit the garden and pick and harvest the flowers & plants. With the harvest, we will work on and create botanical prints. The prints will be printed on location and you can take them home!
