Just over a year ago, the new kid on the block knocked on the door in the world of artificial intelligence: generative AI. A form of artificial intelligence that allows you to automatically develop texts, images, audio and other content. Perhaps the most famous tool is the AI-driven chatbot ChatGPT.
As in other areas of AI, developments are rapid and the images generated are becoming increasingly realistic. In this February edition of Waag Open we take a closer look at generative AI. What can you do with the technology? And what ethical issues arise from the growth of AI? We discuss topics such as 'bias' in algorithms, 'privacy' issues and the impact of AI on our society.
Challenging software and hardware developer Lodewijk Loos will kick off with the ins and outs of generative AI. You can expect an introduction to prompts and an exploration into generative models. After that, you will get to work yourself and create an image together with AI. Experiment with the different tools and learn how to use AI to create visual content. No prior knowledge is necessary!
