Hans Schnitzler (The Hague, 1968) is a philosopher, publicist, speaker and former columnist for the Volkskrant. At the beginning of 2015 his book 'The digital proletariat' was published by De Bezige Bij, a pamphletistic essay that is now in its fifth edition. In 2017 he published his book 'Small philosophy of digital abstinence'. In this book he investigates, based on the 'digital detox' experiences of his students, what it means to go offline in a world that is always online.

Schnitzler has been involved with the Bildung Academy in Amsterdam as "builder" and "teacher" since 2015 and since 1 January 2017 he has been a regular columnist for the journalistic platform Follow the Money.
