ScratchWorx was a new media DJ/VJ tool for schools, an innovative way for expression based art and culture education. ScratchWorx started in 2002, when a first pilot prototype was made and used successfully in an educational environment. In 2006, ScratchWorx was completely redesigned and two new consoles were built.

Based on a self chosen theme pupils (in the age group 12-17 years) could combine video, photo and sound fragments from their own environment. They used this material to mix it live on the ScratchConsole. During a ScratchParty they gave a performance for their fellow pupils, fiends and/or relatives.

ScratchWorx was used in schools, at museums and in workshops. In 2007 a real theatre show with the artist Ali B. was organized. With ScratchWorx, Waag gave young people the possibility for expression of their own identity. It also aimed to improve digital, visual and interactive skills and to stimulate cooperation within groups.
