Samiha AwadProject Manager

Samiha Basel Awad is a Project Manager at Waag Futurelab, coordinating national and international research projects at the intersection of technology, culture and society. She brings together artists, researchers, technologists and partner organisations, helping different disciplines find a common language and translating ambitious ideas into clear structures and strong collaborations. 

Before joining Waag, Samiha worked as a programme leader and creative producer across the cultural, public and technology sectors. She developed interdisciplinary programmes and led multidisciplinary projects involving AI, XR and immersive media, guiding them from early experimentation through implementation. With an interest in how people can collectively shape technology around public values, she is particularly interested in responsible technology, human-centred experiences and questions of authorship, ownership and sustainability within digital ecosystems. 

Samiha holds a BA in ArtScience from the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague (KABK), and an MA in Arts, Culture and Society from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
