The Waag Society Foundation (Waag Futurelab) was founded on 1 December 1994. The foundation has a so-called Dutch ANBI status. Our activities serve a public interest and have a not-for-profit motive.

Objective

The foundation aims to: contribute to the research, design and development of a sustainable, just society, as well as to manage the monument 'De Waag' located at Nieuwmarkt 4, 1012 CR, Amsterdam, and furthermore anything else in the broadest sense related to, belonging to and/or conducive to the aforementioned.

 

Current policy plan

Since 1 January 2021, Waag has the status of 'Future Lab technology and design' in both the Dutch and the Amsterdam cultural basic infrastructure. Waag operates according to a four-year policy plan and according to the connecting Research Agenda.

Supervisory Board

Waag's Supervisory Board follows the Governance Code Cultuur, the Fair Practice Code and the Code Diversiteit & Inclusie. The board works according to a schedule of appointment and resignation. Members receive no remuneration for their work. The Supervisory Board of Waag consists of:
