Objective
The foundation aims to: create a forum and a stage for public research and public events in the field of cultural, social and scientific developments of old and new media, all in the broadest sense of the word, as well as to manage the monument 'De Waag' located at Nieuwmarkt 4 in Amsterdam.
Current policy plan
Since 1 January 2021, Waag has the status of 'Future Lab technology and design' in both the Dutch- and the Amsterdam cultural basic infrastructure. Waag operates according to a four-year policy plan and according to the connecting Research Agenda.

Supervisory Board
Waag's Supervisory Board follows the Governance Code Cultuur, the Fair Practice Code and the Code Diversiteit & Inclusie. The board works according to a schedule of appointment and resignation. Members receive no remuneration for their work. The Supervisory Board of Waag consists of:
