The Waag Society Foundation (Waag Futurelab) was founded on 1 December 1994. The foundation has a so-called Dutch ANBI status. Our activities serve a public interest and have a not-for-profit motive.

The foundation aims to: create a forum and a stage for public research and public events in the field of cultural, social and scientific developments of old and new media, all in the broadest sense of the word, as well as to manage the monument 'De Waag' located at Nieuwmarkt 4 in Amsterdam.

Current policy plan

Since 1 January 2021, Waag has the status of 'Future Lab technology and design' in both the Dutch- and the Amsterdam cultural basic infrastructure. Waag operates according to a four-year policy plan and according to the connecting Research Agenda.
