It has been clear for years that the use of Facebook for government communications poses serious privacy risks. Meta refuses to mitigate these risks, yet the government continues to be active on the platform. The Firewall, together with Waag Futurelab, Privacy First, Freedom Internet, PublicSpaces, NJCM, Open State Foundation, Internet Society Netherlands, Bits of Freedom, Framer Framed, Coöperatie Gebied Online and the BovenJan association, urges the national government to stop undermining our democracy.
