At the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam the staff is not only thinking in medical solutions but also about virtual solutions for their patients. Two new apps help patients to find their way in the hospital and contribute to hospitality. One of those apps was one of the winning initiatives from the Mobiles for Good Challenge, organized by Waag and Vodafone Foundation.
Mobile technology
With her idea for an app dr. Marlies Schijven won the 'Mobiles for Good'-challenge in 2012. Schijven won 40.000 euro to realize her idea. The app can therefore now be used by any hospital, because its not owned by the AMC hospital. Last January 2014, the app was installed at the hospital.
