New makerspace ZB45 opened

On Saturday 19 January 2013 a new makerspace opened in Amterdam: ZB45. ZB45 is a former metal working space at the Zeeburgerpad 45 in Amsterdam, where a mix will emerge between a Fablab, a Makerspace and a more traditional workspace.

Besides computer-controlled making machines like laser cutters, 3D printers and CNC milling machines there will also be an industrial sewing machine and wood and metal working tools. You can (learn to) lasercut, but also weld and woodwork at the space. ZB45 is also the operating base of the FabLab Truck and HenningMade will work here with a large CNC milling machine.

Starting 21 January, ZB45 will be open to the public every Tuesday from 10.00 to 20.00 hrs. It is possible to work on the machines by appointment and workshops and courses will be given. ZB45 is an initiative of Liesbeth d'Hont, Sven Henning and Jaap Vermaas (who has worked as system administrator at Waag in the past).
