Social innovation is a core term in Waag's policy. We promote innovation that breaks with well-worn patterns, comes with solutions for the dynamics between and within organisations and pays attention to the complexity of human behaviour and desires.
The political and societal debate in The Netherlands is mainly focussed at the necessity of new solutions and a new vision to cope with the current crisis and to create a society that no longer depends on the systems that have failed on large scale. But we miss the social innovation component in the Dutch innovation policy that holds the key to the much desired solutions.
As promotors of social innovation, Waag, Kennisland and IIP Create published a joint manifesto, that we currently spread among politicians.
