Tada! Data. They are a promise for life in the city. With data we can tackle major problems. Examine. Discover. Create. Resolve. Data make cities smarter. But wiser too?
Wat happens with all the data? Who do they belong to? Who develops the algorithms? Does everyone benefit from it? In other words, how should we handle data responsibly?
It’s simple. As a city you conclude agreements about this. Agreements on designing a responsible digital city. Agreements between everyone involved: government, companies, educational institutions, urban communities and citizens.
Joint agreements about what you all consider to be important. So about possession, privacy, accountability, being tailored to people’s needs and wishes. About everything that should be crystal clear when you are working with data.
