Maptime is, rather literally, time for mapmaking. Our mission is to open the doors of cartographic possibility to anyone interested by creating a time and space for collaborative learning, exploration, and map creation using mapping tools and technologies.
Meghan Kelly (@meghankellymaps) is a cartographer and a senior PhD student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, plus Maptime Madison organizer. She is interested in all things mapping related! She makes maps, teaches map making, and thinks and rethinks mapping practice. Her dissertation explores the intersections of mapping and feminist theory.
Meghan's design portfolio can be found here.
Bring your laptop.
Maptime is BYOB!
CARTO is sponsoring some Pizzas for the event and there will be some drinks sponsored by Ruimteschepper. But feel free to bring your own dinner and/or beers to the Waag, for yourself or to share!

Temporary Autonomous Zone
Our Temporary Autonomous Zone evenings provide external parties with the opportunity to take over the Waag building for a night and organise their own programmes. During these evenings, we provide other organisations, groups and initiatives focused on themes related to Waag's own values with a place to try out their new programme with a broad target audience.
