Understanding algoritmes

Are you working on digital inclusion, for example as a social worker, local government official or library employee, and do you have questions about algorithms? On 4 December, we will update you in this webinar on how algorithms are used in the Netherlands, teach you what to look out for when algorithms are used, and discuss everyday questions people may have about algorithms.

Organisations and governments are increasingly using algorithms to make decisions. These decisions do not always work out well for people. Furthermore, people usually have no insight into how algorithmic decisions are made. As an algorithm user, how do you ensure that people are not disadvantaged? How can you gain insight into how algorithmic decisions are made and where can you go as a professional if you have questions about this? The European AI Regulation stipulates that organisations must be able to explain how and why they use algorithms. How do you go about this?
