Trolls, fake profiles and Russian disinformation campaigns. Unfortunately, this is the reality of the internet today. Luckily, in the Netherlands, we agree that it's important to be able to analyse the credibility and reliability of sources, information, and digital content. Media literacy and critical thinking have been getting more attention in schools for a few years now, but in fact, everyone could use a crash course in fake news. Because with the emergence of generative AI, it's easier than ever to generate content.

During this Waag Open, you will learn in a workshop how to create and recognise misinformation and discover what to look out for in order to debunk fake news. At the end of the evening, you will have the tips and tricks you need to recognise and interpret misinformation and disinformation.
