Waag at Weekend van de Wetenschap

Will holograms be the new video calling in the future? Or do we want to communicate with each other in a completely different way? And what if toys or other stuff can talk to each other? Explore with Waag Futurelab and designer Aina Seerden how we want to communicate with each other in the future during Weekend van de Wetenschap (Weekend of Science).

In the past you could only make phone calls with your phone. But since our phones are connected to the internet (mobile internet), you can do much more with your phone than just make calls. Chatting with your friends or watching series in the back seat of the car, with all these things you use mobile internet. At the same time, mobile internet can also make things possible that you might not want. For example, your parents being able to see your grades via the app of your School or big companies like Zalando using your search behaviour to show advertisements. For what communication do we want to use technology for? And for what not? Create your own vision of the future of communication together with Waag Futurelab and designer Aina Seerden during Weekend van de Wetenschap!

Science Weekend at the Marineterrein
What will our lives look like in the future? On Saturday 7 October, innovative organisations at and around the Marineterrein open their doors for families to experiment, discover and think together about the city of the future. There will also be plenty to do on Sunday 8 October, but with a less busy programme. Make your own sushi from insects, learn to code or fly a drone, work with a 3D printer, upcycle your own clothes or eat an ice cream made of cultured meat!
