Pourya OmidiProject Developer

Pourya works as a technology researcher and project developer at Waag Futurelab. After studying Electrical Engineering at TU Delft, he began working in a commercial environment, where he gained extensive experience in the high-tech software and (embedded) hardware sectors. For four years, he was a co-founder of a medical startup, working on the development of a diagnostic tool for heart patients. Over time, his interest grew in the role that technology plays in cultural formation. His work at Waag focuses on technologies such as the fediverse and decentralised databases, and how these contribute to citizen participation in the design, development, and use of technology for a resilient democracy.

Participatieve methoden voor alignment van taalmodellen

Together with TNO, Waag Futurelab is investigating which participatory methods for value alignment exist in the development and use of large language models. In collaboration with civil society organisations, we are testing a method for identifying and embedding values in GPT-NL.
