Thais Costa was the lead of Waag's Future Heritage Lab. In this capacity she explored the role of heritage, cultural identity and artistic expression as driving forces for societal development and transformative change. As a lab lead she co-developed the strategic directions of projects as well as coordinated the collaboration amongst partners focusing on participation, sharing and learning. She was pilot coordinator of the Centrinno project and developed project proposals on digitally born heritage.
Before joining Waag, she has worked in the international development and humanitarian sectors with a particular focus on educational projects that are designed through a co-creative and human-centred design approach. She believes in the importance of human experience and multiple perspectives when identifying and solving complex issues of our society. With an educational background in product design and museology, she is inspired by cross-sectoral collaborations and the use of new technologies in the creative industry.
