In the Amsterdecks project, Waag worked with Waternet and Rademacher & De Vries Architects on smart swimming platforms that measure water quality through sensors. They show information about the water quality. Because the cause of any pollution is also shown, residents of Amsterdam are involved in creating a cleaner city. The Amsterdecks let you know where and when you can and especially cannot swim.
Amsterdecks brings the water closer by providing a smart swimming platform that makes the water quality immediately visible online. Four cylinders on the decking display real-time measured values from four water sensors, suspended under the decking. You will find a visualisation of the measured values on the Amsterdecks website.
