More than 225 million photos have already been published under a Creative Commons license, but a recent research by Foter.com shows that a staggering 90% of those pictures are not attributed and 99% are not attributed properly! This means that e.g. bloggers cannot retrieve the correct attribution if they publish a photo.
Th bring a change to this situation, Foter.com has made a useful infographic gemaakt, summarizing the most important characteristics of the six available licenses, plus some statistics of the most used licenses by photographers. The most restrictive licenses, that do not allow commercial use or adaptation of the original, are most widely used (29,1% and 27,5% respectively). Just about 30% of the CC-licensed photographs is available for commercial use.
