The new selection for the 3Package Deal 2016 has been announced. Fifteen promising artists are selected for this development programme, initiated by the Amsterdams Fonds voor de Kunst (AFK) in collaboration with Bureau Broedplaatsen. As part of the 3Package Deal 2016, experimental designer Frank Kolkman will start working at Waag.
Coalition Social Design
Frank Kolkman (1989, Arnhem) is part of the coalition Social Design formed by AMC, Museum Vrolik, Waag, Makerversity and De Punt.
Kolkman will start his work this year which will be themed ‘end of life’. Some of the earlier projects by Kolkman include: DIY Surgical Robot (OpenSurgery), that researches the possibilities of surgical robots, and Tiny Education Bunny, that shows what the combination of small electronics, laser cutting and 3D-printing can do.
