Land van Ons cooperation proposes alternative to mega data center Zeewolde

A mega data center by META (Facebook), that uses twice as much energy resources as the city of Amsterdam? Don't think so. On December 16th, the city council of Zeewolde (NL) will vote if 166 acres of land will be sold, so that META can build this gigantic data center on this land, which is very appropriate for agricultural use. Also, the data center will use up so much energy, that the Dutch emission objectives for 2022 will be compromised. That's why Land van Ons, the cooperation that buys used land to restore its biodiversity and promote nature inclusive agriculture, proposes to buy the 166 acres of land from the city of Zeewolde, instead of META.
