In no Amsterdam district does making play such a big role as in Amsterdam Noord. Waag investigated how long 100 makers from Noord were allowed to stay in their workshops. This showed that half of the makers will have to leave Noord within five years. For another quarter, it is still unclear when, but that they too will have to leave is a fact. Thus, Noord will lose its local makers and repairers, but also its typical industrial character.
