Together with organisations such as Bits of Freedom, the Racism and Technology Center and Privacy First, Waag supports the Alliance against Military AI. We want the Dutch government to immediately stop their development of artificial intelligence in the military domain. We expect and fear that these intelligences, with their ever-increasing independence, will continue to cause ongoing harm to historically marginalised communities in society.
Following human rights abuses in the form of the Toeslagenschandaal and other events, the Alliance Against Military AI believes the central government should immediately stop developing AI in the military domain. However, on 15 and 16 February, the government-organised conference REAIM takes place, working towards solutions for military AI.
