We earlier wrote about the privacy aspects of WhatsApp (WhatsApp: what about your privacy?). About Facebook we know that it is not taking the privacy of their users very serious (take a look at this infographic). But now that WhatsApp has been bought by Facebook, these privacy issues are surfacing once more.
So today, we took a look at the settings of both mobile apps (in this case on an Android phone) side by side. The amount of data that is collected is considerable for both apps. WhatsApp has access to all your contacts (even if they don't want to be known by WhatsApp), while Facebook can take possession of your calendar (including the confidential information).
Put these two together, and you can easily conclude that this leads to an even greater insight and use of your personal data.
