In this special Open Wetlab night we host a Chaos Theory Workshop by Erwin Hoogerwoord (participant BioHack Academy).
The next technological revolution will probably not have perfectly rounded corners. It will be something that emerges from the chaos of life. In 1944 Erwin Schrödinger asked: “What is life?”, proposing that from simple systems complex things can emerge. In the eighties, a new science emerged in the form of Chaos Theory. Answering some of Schrödinger's questions through the power of mathematics.
How do complex things emerge from simple rules?
Like this, for example:

In this Chaos Theory Workshop we will dive into the world of algorithmic life together. The goal is to answer the main question: “What is life?”, by developing intuitive tacit knowledge through play, creativity and experimentation.
We will prepare Open source interactive visualisations for a variety of interesting algorithms. These will be in the form of web pages that can be opened on your laptop. You can immediately start playing around, without writing any lines of code. But of course you can hack the source code, mash up different algorithms and be creative!
Don’t forget to bring your laptop.
