Imagination of the future: three writers on fiction, future and technology
This is a live event, taking place in the Theatrum Anatomicum of Waag in Amsterdam. Due to the current measures concerning the corona virus, 20 guests are welcome at this event. If the measures would change, capacity may differ as well. Waag asks all her guests to respect and follow the measures at any time.
Dutch will be spoken during this event.
Waag presents three writers. They will discuss their latest works: in April 2021, Kraaien in het paradijs ('crows in paradise') by Ellen de Bruin was published, followed by Zwerm ('swarm') by Berthe Spoelstra (Van Oorschot, August 2021) and De visionair ('the visionary') by Anja Sicking (Lebowski, to be published January 2022).
Together, these three writers will talk about the role of fiction in imagining our future. What social and cultural impact does technology have in the near future, and are we afraid of it?
This event will be in Dutch.
