Quietly, more and more wood planers, shoemakers and welders are disappearing from the city. At the same time, Amsterdam desperately needs a local manufacturing and repair economy to be circular by 2050. How can we turn the tide? Join us at Pakhuis de Zwijger and learn more about the new incubator policy for creative makers and the possibilities of offering makers with a social and sustainable function an affordable place in our city.
How do we ensure enough space in the city for a local manufacturing and repair economy?
During this evening, photographer Joshua Abebrese will take the stage. He portrayed various craftsmen in Amsterdam Noord for the Makers of Noord exhibition. This exhibition can be seen in Hout- en Meubileringscollege from 29 September.
In addition to Joshua Abebrese, Marleen Dijkhof (de Schoenmakerette), Martijn Braamhaar (Bureau Broedplaatsen), Stephan Welle (Wood and Furniture College Amsterdam) and Jan Scholte (filmmaker) will also speak.
This event will take place in Dutch.
