Wallen Festival

On Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 June, you will have a unique opportunity to (re)discover Amsterdam’s vibrant city centre. Wander through narrow canals and picturesque alleyways and encounter more than 80 activities that are as diverse and colourful as the neighbourhood itself. The Wallen festival is curated by residents, entrepreneurs, and cultural makers. Enjoy live music, taste local delicacies, join mini-workshops, and visit one of the many unique historical locations.

Short Circuit

During the Wallen festival, Waag Futurelab presents the exhibition Short Circuit. The exhibition features work by Ginevra Petrozzi, Irakli Sabekia, Julia Janssen, Kai-Hsiang Wen, Nestor Siré, and Papertrail.

These works take apart the “black box” of technology and use its fragments to build new narratives: about the physical footprint of data centers and the cloud, about privacy as a contemporary curse, and about how gamer culture and hardware mods offer new ways of looking at technology. The exhibition is closely aligned with Waag’s mission to work towards public technology and a just digital society.
