WeMakeThe.City 2019 will take place over a seven day period from Monday 17 to Sunday 23 June. Policymakers, researchers, entrepreneurs, civil servants, students, social professionals, artists and active citizens will meet, exchange experiences and make the city of the future together.
Themes second edition
Like last year, the urgent social issues such as affordable housing, climate change, healthy living, the future of learning and working, quality of life and safety, mobility and division in the city will take centre stage.
Extra emphasis will be placed on the theme: the city for, by, and of all! Throughout the world, differences and tensions between urban groups are increasingly manifesting themselves, with far-reaching consequences. At the same time, diversity is the ultimate precondition to move towards creation and innovation. If we as a society are able to realise equality, the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area, with its 180 nationalities, has everything it needs to excel and to take up the challenges.
Waag takes care of part of the programming. Check our calendar for details.
