Ids Haverkate works as an intern for the research group Learn. His focus is on the Quantum Inspire project, in which he works on translating the abstract topic ‘quantum’ to the public.
Ids studies Design for Change and Innovation at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht. In his studies he learns about finding solutions for social issues through design thinking. To combine art and artistic research with academic research, he did a minor in social science research at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam.
Next to his work at Waag, Ids works as a freelance youth coach at Breekacademy. As youth coach he helps high school students improve their social and emotional skills.
Ids is interested in people, behavior and the influence of art and design on behavior. During his internship, Ids learns about different design methods and design processes. How does design work in the real world?
